For several months, Vladimir Léon followed the work of choreographer Julie Desprairies, day after day, as she conceived her new piece, La Chevêche, a danced trek through a forest in the Ardennes. She met many of the forest's users (foresters, naturalists, hunters, artists, etc.) who were to take part in her piece, and who told the story of their country through their bodies and words, while the film captured the metamorphosis of their everyday gestures into danced movement. The forest is filled with these strange, ephemeral inhabitants, dancers and musicians for the occasion. The spec- tacle can begin...
